With 5.5 miles of waterfront, the beach remains a main attraction in the city. The breathtaking view attracts numerous who enjoy everything from sunbathing and sand castle building to swimming, boating and kayaking. Long Beach also offers the rare opportunity of relaxing in a serenaded gondola ride while admiring the scenery. However, even inland, the city has much to offer.

Day and night, boats harbored in the marina offer a variety of cruise options. Take in the view of the city from the water by day or wait until after dark and marvel at the illuminated skyline. Indulge in a sunset dinner cruise, wine tasting events or a mystery murder dinner cruise.

Long Beach cares for 92 parks that span over 3,100 acres. Amongst the city’s green spaces, visitors find an archery range, biking and hiking trails, a fishing lake and numerous playgrounds and picnic areas. Paving along the waterfront also invites cycling, skating and walking.

RMS Queen Mary
Used as a troop carrier during WWII, the luxury ocean liner now welcomes tours of the massive ship. Exhilarating and informational tours take guests from bow to stern and top to bottom while exploring the vessel’s vast history of adventure, romance and hauntings. The ship also serves as a hotel and restaurant while also featuring a number of boutique shops.

Aquarium of the Pacific
The facility houses well over 12,500 marine life animals that represent over 550 species. Exhibits display species and environments found in the Northern Pacific, Southern California and the waters of the Tropical Pacific. Popular attractions include the Shark Lagoon touch tank and the Lorikeet Forest.

Long Beach offers a variety of activities after the sun goes down. Stroll up to the Mai Tai Bar on the beach or venture to the COHIBA nightclub. Forget about daily stress with a few laughs at the Laugh is Hope comedy club or listen to popular DJs and live music at the Basement at the Broadlind.
